Percent of a number

To find a percent of a number, swap the percent for a friendly fraction, then take that fraction of the number.

50% of 40 = half of 40 = 20.

10% of 60 = 60 ÷ 10 = 6. And 25% of 40 = a quarter of 40 = 10.
